A Musical “Elixir” for all that ails you
PRESTIGIOUS CLASSICAL “ELIXIR PIANO TRIO” TO TEACH AND PERFORM
AT THE HI-DESERT CULTURAL CENTER

This elixir will be served on March 27th, 2009 at the Hi-Desert Cultural Center.
The Elixir Piano Trio is winner of the “Most Distinguished Musician Award” at the 2005 IBLA International Competition in Italy, performs both traditional and modern repertoire with classical, folk and jazz influences. The Elixir Piano Trio has become instrumental in promoting works by modern composers. Known for their unique and exciting interpretations and passionate performances, the Los Angeles based ensemble has concertized nationally and internationally, dazzled audiences with their amazing energy and sensitivity.
The Elixir PIano Trio will feature two unique events on Friday, March 27th at the Cultural Center. At 2:30 pm, there will be a special one-hour student program that will be presented in chronological order of the history of music, covering Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern Periods. This sold-out afternoon student presentation was made possible by donations from the town of Yucca Valley, the Farmers Market, the GATE Program and the Desert Music Foundation.
The second, and main event, which still has tickets available, will feature a broad spectrum of classical music, including short works and complete piano trios by this talented and virtuosic ensemble that includes musicians that have concertized all over the world, including the Soviet Union, Mexico, Spain, England, Italy, Ireland and the Czech Republic. The concert will be presented "in the round" for a unique musical experience.
According to Rich Gerston, who recommended the trio to the Cultural Center, “I have always dreamed of bringing this talented group of classical musicians to the Morongo Basin, but have never had the proper venue. With the Blak Box theatre, complete with a fine Yamaha Grand Piano, great acoustics, and exquisite lighting, my dream will finally come true.”
The Elixir Piano Trio will perform on Friday March 27, 2009 at the newly renovated Blak Box Theatre, located directly behind the historic Hi-Desert Playhouse at 61231 Hwy 62 in Joshua Tree, CA.
