Dear Family and Friends -
On this day, Wednesday, the eighth of May, two thousand and thirteen, our beloved Eveline Palmer has gone home to be with the Lord and her late husband, Robert. Known simply as "Cherie" to her many friends, the legacy that she and Robert created will never be forgotten - and cannot be overstated.
For more than 30 years, Cherie volunteered her time to our Hi-Desert Cultural Center. Until her death, she served as an executive board member, treasurer, and as the Center's "Wardrobe Mistress Extraordinaire" working to establish a vibrant and thriving center for the arts and, not surprisingly, the most extensive theater wardrobe in the Desert. A pillar of strength for us all, she stood behind us through the bad days as well as the good.
Along with the other non-profit organizations Cherie served and loved, the Cultural Center will host a "Celebration of Life" ceremony in Cherie's honor with a date soon to be determined. The ceremony will be held in the Cultural Center's second theater building, which had been dedicated solely to her husband but will be re-dedicated the "Robert & Eveline Palmer Performance Hall".
Although Cherie will be greatly missed by us all here on Earth, we can imagine that after these many years of separation, Robert is thrilled to have the graceful company of his better half again at his side. There, he can show her their new home. . . and she can sew him a new suit.
We can never underestimate the power of one.
Godspeed, Cherie.
Jarrod Radnich
President, Hi-Desert Cultural Center
